Your First Visit

Your First Visit

Growney Dental

At Growney Dental, your comfort and safety are important to us, and we want you to feel welcome from the moment you step into our office. We understand that your first experience with a new dentist can be intimidating; rest assured, we will do everything that we can to help you feel comfortable at every stage of your treatment. The following set of guidelines will help guarantee that you are fully prepared for your first visit, so you can confidently move forward with your dental care.

How to Prepare

We believe that patients can get the most out of their dental care when they are well-prepared and well-educated. By properly preparing for your initial consultation, you help to ensure that the appointment will run smoothly, that all of your questions and concerns will be addressed, and that there will be no unwelcome surprises. Before visiting us, there are several things you can do that will enable you to take full advantage of your time in our office. These include:

  • Gathering your health records and medical history information
  • Verifying your insurance coverage
  • Preparing a list of questions to ask during your appointment
  • Considering the topics you would like to discuss with Dr. Growney, including your personal goals

What to Expect

Your first visit is an opportunity not only to receive superlative dental care, but to get to know Dr. Growney and his staff. We want our patients to view their dental care as an experience, not a simple exchange of services, and encourage you to ask questions and feel at ease.

During your first dental appointment, Dr. Growney will take the time to discuss your specific oral health goals, as well as address any questions or concerns you may have regarding treatment. It is important to be honest and open about your questions and concerns in order to allow Dr. Growney to provide dental care that will suit your needs and wants. He will also review your dental health records and perform a thorough oral examination, including X-rays. This will help him get an accurate idea of your oral health and begin planning your dental care.

After this initial examination, Dr. Growney will discuss all of your treatment options, as well as the risks and benefits of each, so that you can make an informed decision regarding your care. By working together, you and Dr. Growney can create an effective, customized treatment plan that will help you obtain optimal oral health and a beautiful smile. We ask that you schedule your appointment at a time that is convenient for you, so we can devote ample time to your dental care.

Payment Information

It is important to contact your insurance company and verify your dental coverage prior to your dental appointment. Our friendly staff can assist you with any payment-related questions, but cannot speak to your specific health care plan. In the event that your desired treatment is not covered by your insurance company, we offer several financing options including CareCredit™ and structured payment plans. Understanding your coverage prior to your appointment will help you make treatment decisions that best suit your individual situation.

Patient Information Form

We have provided you with our general information form that you may download, complete, and bring to your first appointment to save time in our office.
